Seeing specific animals is never guaranteed but experiencing the richness of this place at its fullness is on the table. A group of monkeys, Buffalos, giraffes, elephants, impalas, wildebeest, and topi are easy to spot within the first few minutes of your drive. Other browsers of the thorny shrub include the increasingly uncommon, reticulated giraffe and the rare Beisa Oryx as well as eland, impala, Brights reticulated giraffes and generux.

Did you know that Tsavo West National Park is famed for its man-eating lions? This impenetrable thicket of heat and bush is where the first train tracks built from Mombasa to Kenya. The beauty of Tsavo is the beauty. The trees, dense vegetation and long grasses in the wet season make it harder but the animals are here, including several prides of lion. There are also elephants, zebra, giraffe, owls, eagles, vultures, eland, crocodile, hippo, gazelle, impala, oryx, hornbill, cape buffalo and wild dog.

Amboseli is Kenya’s second most popular safari destination. If you needed a more iconic safari sight with elephants wander beneath Mt. Kilimanjaro. This magical sight is just the famous part of the experience, it’s a home to a superb array of animals. Amboseli is a Masai word that loosely translates as salty dust this is due to the huge dried-up lake in the center of the park. However, the park advertises itself as the best place in Africa to get close to the elephant herds. Big herds are best spotted during the morning and evening.

Borana Conservancy is located on the foothills of Mt. Kenya. With an arid landscape to the North and ancient indigenous forests and high -altitude moorlands to the south, Borana is in prime location for both wildlife and break taking scenery. Borana Conservancy is home to the inspiration for Pride Rock from Disney’s original animated film The Lion King. It is also home to white and black rhino and other endangered species.
