Detailed Itinerary
Arrival in Kigali – Volcanoes National Park
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport, you will be met by your professional driver-guide. Enjoy a brief city tour of Kigali, including a visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial for historical and cultural insight. Thereafter, drive north through Rwanda’s rolling green hills to Volcanoes National Park. Arrive at your lodge in time for lunch and afternoon leisure, with stunning views of the Virunga Mountains.

Gorilla Trekking Experience
After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a gorilla trekking briefing. You will then set off into the rainforest with experienced trackers to locate one of the habituated gorilla families. The trek can take between 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movement but the reward is extraordinary—one full hour spent observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Witness their social behaviour, gentle interactions and powerful presence at close range. Return to the lodge for lunch and spend the afternoon at leisure, reflecting on this once-in-a-lifetime experience.

Volcanoes National Park – Optional Activities
After breakfast, enjoy a relaxed day with optional experiences – Golden Monkey Trekking or Dian Fossey Tomb & Karisoke Research Center Hike. These activities offer deeper insight into Rwanda’s conservation success and rich cultural heritage. Afternoon at leisure at the lodge.

Volcanoes National Park – Kigali Departure
After breakfast, check out and drive back to Kigali. Depending on your flight time, enjoy last-minute shopping or lunch in the city before transfer to the airport for departure.
